Celebrate Pride - Decadently!

Welcome to Pride 2025! The year is halfway through, and this is the perfect moment to pause, reflect, take a deep breath, and then maybe scream a little. After you’ve let all that out, we’d love for you to join us June 21st at our Pride Concert: “Decadent, Degenerate, and Downright Dangerous!”

Our program starts in Germany, following the path of musical suppression from 1934 to its inevitable conclusion in World War 2. We then cross the Atlantic, where a more diffuse -- but no less strange -- parallel of Nazi-style artistic repression occurred in America during the 1950s/60s.

Throughout our program, we’ll showcase the “degenerate” sounds of music by the Comedian Harmonists, Hans Eisler, Kurt Weill, Max Bruch, music by American-Jewish composer Aaron Copland, as well as folk music from musicians like Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Harry Belafonte and more.

This program will feature readings on our composers, reflections on censorship, and personal learnings from our choir members. We hope you’ll join us after our concert for a reception with light refreshments and queer fellowship.

Grant AnnouncementS!

Our program this year is made possible in part with funds from Creative Engagement, a regrant program(s) supported by the funding agencies The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, the Howard Gilman Foundation, and administered by LMCC. We are so excited to have been chosen as a recipient of this $8,000 grant, and delighted to put these funds to work for our community.

We’re also thrilled to announce a grant of $10,000 "Pride Gives Back" grant from NYCPride! The program supports local LGBTQIA+ non profit and community organizations like us that are providing essential services, advocacy, and community-building programs for NYC’s LGBTQIA+ community.
